CHANGING YOUR MIND WITH
Counselling
..may be a way to changing your world
..may be a way to changing your world
I briefly outline here who I am and what you can expect from me as a counsellor but would encourage you to make contact to personalise your experience and needs
.
Perhaps you don't feel right, your relationships might be suffering, you may feel exhausted from trying to maintain a positive side. Maybe you keep doing the same things over and over but cannot seem to break the cycle. I believe we all have the capacity to help ourselves through much of this but, in an increasingly complex and busy life where we are ‘always on’, there often feels like there's little time available to focus on ‘me-time’. Counselling gives you the valuable space and time to find your way in a supported and non-judgmental environment.
I work with clients with various emotions, thoughts and challenges including; stress, anxiety, self-esteem/confidence, anger, relationship/work issues, depression and bereavement (loss). By listening and using tools alongside positive challenge, I highlight patterns and ways of thinking, giving moments of clarity for clients to make changes in their life and their view of it.
I have recently worked with the NHS on providing short term therapy (6 sessions) to patients and have seen some excellent results in this shorter and more focussed time period. For others, a longer term, deeper relationship has been more successful for their needs. The only optimum time frame is the one that works for you. We'll discuss this at the outset and work to a plan.
My previous career was in Leadership and Management. As well as being a trained counsellor, I also have coaching qualifications and experience gained through 23 years in a fast-paced commercial organisation with both commercial and people management Board responsibilities.
My change in career came from my belief and passion in mental health. I volunteered in a local counselling charity from 2016 and was Chair of that organisation in 2020/2021.
I am an Accredited Member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and have been a member for the last 8 years. My Foundation Degree Diploma in Humanistic Gestalt Counselling was achieved in 2017 and I have continued to learn and develop every year since.
For those of you who have a more curious mind and would like to know more, I have expanded on how I work, as well as a short video introduction, on the next page.
It can be difficult to decide on a counsellor that best suits you and your needs but it's also really important. So, I offer a 30 minute, free of charge, no obligation session where we can find out more about each other and what would work best for you. I'd love to help you start your personal process which has brought you here.
No obligation to contract for more than one session at a time
If fewer than 24 hours' notice is given (or a no-show), it is necessary to make the full charge. I will endeavour to contact you and if we go on to conduct part of a session, the same fee will be charged.
More than 24 hours, there is no charge.
I am an authorised counsellor for WPA health insurance policies
Receipts can be provided on request in order to make insurance claims. I am not VAT registered.
